Impact Mechanism of topspin
The force at the impact with the ball is combined with 2 directional forces. Vertical force N creates some speed and helps the horizontal force T to create more spin rotations. In the modern table tennis game, T force facilitates the most of agress and power. Speed glue effect enhances T over N. XIOM rubbers in TENSOR and TENSOR BIOS technology also focus on increasing T without speed glue while improving N and energy transfer dynamics at ball impact.

TENSOR technology replacing VOC speed glue effect and booster effect greatly in the last decade. TENSOR BIOS introduced in 2006 reached the level of maximum spin and speed performance without speed glue over TENSOR 1st, 2nd,3rd generation. ZETA for Chinese professionals adopts the new TENSOR BIOS generation which is more stable in dynamics than its original generation. Unique tradition of Chinese Table Tennis continues
Chinese players have used relatively harder rubbers but along with much of speed glues. Organic solvent in the liquid speed glue creates a high level of tension inside the rubber for a limited time. As the solvent gas of speed glue fills up the micro molecules of sponge, the rubber elasticity eventually increases and the rubber gets soft. This physical phenomenon is generally called speed glue effect. TENSOR BIOS technology creates the same effect inside of the rubber without the liquid speed glue. It's built-in elasticity usually exceeds the tension generated by average speed gluing. Chinese playing style will continue over the ban with TENSOR BIOS technology.

For the true spirit of table tennis
VOC packed speed glues damage the enviroment and the health of the
people. It has also been damaging the image of table tennis. Since ITTF
announced the new regulation to stop the speed glue for the benefit of
table tennis, as a bounce back of some habitual gluers, some boosters
were introduced to the market. But boosters are still skin-irritating
hazardous compounds against the spirit of new regulation. Finally ITTF
also banned the boosters along with any substances other than water
glue simply to attach the rubber on the blade.
The ITTF regulation 2.04.07 "The covering material should be used as it
has been authorized by ITTF without any physical, chemical or other
treatment, changing or modifying playing properties, friction, outlook,
colour, structure, surface etc..."
